The heart of CHNY lies in our public lectures and discussions, where we explore the past, present, and future of food and drink, presented by scholars, experts and thought leaders. Our programs are stimulating, erudite, and yet accessible to a general audience; no special background is need to enjoy our programs and to come away culturally enriched. Most of our programs are open to members, guests, and the public.
Our programs are currently run exclusively online, as Zoom Meetings (not webinars); this congenial meeting format allows attendees to interact with everyone participating, to pose questions directly to our speakers, if desired, and to join more intimate breakout discussions. We encourage all to participate in our trademark “tasting history” through recipes that are shared in advance of each program, should the kitchen spirits inspire.
