Elysian Kitchens: Recipes and Stories from Monasteries, Mosques,Temples and Synagogues Around the World with Jody Eddy

Program Description

In the kitchens of monasteries, temples, mosques, and synagogues across the world, culinary traditions have been carefully preserved and passed down through centuries, influencing the way we approach cooking, agriculture, community, and sustainability. Jody Eddy will explore these sacred kitchens and show how their culinary traditions are manifested in the present day. Jody’s rare access to these religious sanctuaries gives her a unique lens into the intersection of culture, history, and spirituality that shapes some of the world’s most intriguing culinary practices.

Jody Eddy is the author of Elysian Kitchens: Recipes and Stories From Monasteries, Mosques, Temples and Synagogues Around the World, published in fall 2024 by W.W.
